Provisional agreements include hydro, onshore and offshore wind assets

The provisional results of the latest T-4 capacity auction in Great Britain were published on Tuesday 10 March, with 40,108MW in agreements awarded to capacity market units at an auction clearing price of £27.10/kW. The delivery year runs from 1 October 2029 to 30 September 2030.
SSE Renewables has provisionally1 secured one year capacity agreements for 935MW of de-rated2 electricity generation from hydro (925MW) and onshore wind (10MW) assets. This includes 137MW of capacity at the company’s Sloy hydro scheme.
The T-4 auction success follows last week’s T-1 capacity auction in Great Britain in which SSE Renewables provisionally secured agreements for 97MW of de-rated electricity generation from offshore wind, battery storage and solar assets. The company was awarded one year agreements for the delivery year 2026-27 for 58MW of capacity from its Seagreen offshore wind farm and for 39MW of capacity from across its Ferrybridge battery storage and Littleton solar assets, both of which are due to enter commercial operations imminently. The T-1 capacity auction awarded 7,192 MW in agreements to capacity market units operating in Great Britain at an auction clearing price of £5.00/kW.
The provisional results remain subject to confirmation by the Secretary of State for Energy Security and Net Zero (DESNZ).
