Delivering the green electricity the world needs

An independent economic impact study has found that SSE’s proposed Coire Glas Pumped Storage Hydro project in the Scottish Highlands could support almost 3,000 UK construction jobs at peak, deliver a near £2 billion spending boost with UK businesses, and generate £1.5 billion in UK economic value for the UK, if approved for delivery.

SSE has awarded €164,000 to community groups across Cavan and Monaghan through its East Cavan and Monaghan Community Fund, supporting projects focused on community development, energy efficiency, sustainability and safety.

SSE’s combined Castel Favorito and Masseria la Cattiva (17.3 MW) wind farm in Puglia, southern Italy, is now operational and exporting renewable energy into the local grid, marking the delivery of the company’s first Italian renewable electricity asset

SSE has opened applications for the 2026 Meentycat and Culliagh Community Benefit Fund, with more than €130,000 available to support projects that make a lasting difference in communities across County Donegal.
