Major Projects Fund:

The Major Projects Fund will open on Thursday 27 August and closes on Tuesday, 6 October 2026.

Near Neighbours Fund:

The Near Neighbours Fund will open on Thursday 27 August and closes on Tuesday, 6 October 2026.

We welcome applications from not-for-profit organisations, community groups, and social enterprises that create sustainable, scalable impact in their local areas. This includes:

• Groups based within the 10km Area of Benefit
• Groups based outside the 10km radius up to 15km, that deliver measurable impact to communities within the Area of Benefit.

This fund supports projects that empower communities and strengthens resilience, particularly projects that address local challenges through inclusive, innovative, and sustainable solutions, and are also aligned with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (UN SDGs) & Lenalea Wind Farm Community Funding Strategic Themes.

United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (UN SDGs):

Projects should align with one or more of the following UN SDGs:

• SDG 4 - Quality Education: Promote inclusive, equitable and lifelong learning opportunities
• SDG 7 - Affordable and Clean Energy: Support access to renewable energy and energy efficiency
• SDG 11 - Sustainable Cities and Communities: Build inclusive, safe, resilient, and sustainable local environments
• SDG 13 - Climate Action: Take urgent action to combat climate change and its impacts

2. Promoting Health and Wellbeing in the Community
3. Transition to Renewable Energy
4. Sustainable Local Community Tourism Development

Residents living within a radius of 2km of the Lenalea Wind Farm are entitled to apply for a Near Neighbour payment of €1,000 per household.

The distance is identified from the base of the nearest turbine to the nearest part of the structure of the occupied residence (not outbuildings etc.), the location of which is identified in the An Post geo-directory.
