SSE has invested £375,000 to support the development of a new shared clubhouse and community facility at Aberfeldy Golf Club, through its Griffin and Calliachar Wind Farm Community Investment Fund.
The funding, which supported both the build and interior fit-out of the building and represents the largest single award ever made by the fund. It has helped deliver a modern replacement for the former clubhouse, which was no longer fit for purpose.
Built on the site of the old Aberfeldy Golf Club clubhouse, the new facility has been designed as a central hub for sport and the wider community. It brings together local clubs that previously did not have access to a shared space.
The community hub includes:
Modern changing rooms and showers,
A bar and restaurant,
A flexible area for events and wider community use
The project reflects SSE’s ongoing commitment to community investment in areas close to its renewable energy developments, supporting facilities that respond to local priorities and have long-term benefits.
Morven Smith, Head of Community Investment for SSE, said:
“We’re delighted to support this project through the Griffin and Calliachar Wind Farm Community Fund, alongside other investors. This is the largest amount we’ve awarded from the fund, and seeing it help deliver a facility that will benefit Aberfeldy Golf Club and the wider community for years to come is really special.
“The new clubhouse is a testament to what the Aberfeldy community has achieved—bringing partners together, securing investment and creating a modern, shared space that will serve local clubs, families and visitors. It shows what’s possible when local ambition is matched with long-term support.”
