Funding available to support local community projects

WOMEN’STEC and South West Regional College awarded funding
SSE has awarded £2.1 million to 17 projects across the Scottish Highlands through its Highland Sustainable Development Fund.
12 local projects supported by wind farm’s Community Benefit Fund
SSE has invested £375,000 to support the development of a new shared clubhouse and community facility at Aberfeldy Golf Club, through its Griffin and Calliachar Wind Farm Community Investment Fund.
Funding for 2026 and 2027 is being released to support transformational community projects around the wind park.
A total of 30 community-led projects across West Limerick and North Kerry are sharing over half a million euro from SSE’s wind-powered community funds.
SSE will continue to play a leading role in community investment across Scotland in 2026, building on a landmark moment in 2025 when the company marked over £80 million distributed to Scottish communities through renewable energy funds over the last two decades.
SSE Renewables is proud to announce the launch of the inaugural Yellow River Community Benefit Fund, created to deliver meaningful support to communities surrounding the Yellow River Wind Farm, outside Rhode, in County Offaly.
