Toddleburn Wind Farm

Toddleburn is located in the Scottish Borders, between the villages of Heriot and Oxton.
Construction began in June 2008, with the first power generated in June 2010.
Toddleburn is 100% owned and operated by SSE Renewables.
Next steps
SSE Renewables is currently assessing the potential for a Repower development of the operational Toddleburn Wind Farm. This work is at a very early stage.
An important part of this process is the installation of a temporary Meteorological Mast, which would allow for the detailed analysis of wind conditions and other meteorological measurements. SSE Renewables has therefore submitted a planning application to the Scottish Borders Council for a single temporary met mast near the Toddleburn Wind Farm site in March 2026.
We will provide further information on progress at Toddleburn Repower at the earliest opportunity and maintain a full consultation throughout the development process.
Toddleburn Community Fund
Through our Toddleburn wind farm we make around £75,000 per year available for community and charitable projects. Over its lifetime we expect to invest around £2million in local projects.
